About ICOM Nepal

ICOM Nepal, a non-profit organization is national committee of International Council of museums (ICOM) a global organization of museum professionals. ICOM Nepal is a membership based association of national level museum professionals working in Nepal. As an organization of museums and museum professionals it is committed enrich and facilitate according to ICOM Definition the research, conservation, and communication to community of the country about the tangible and intangible cultural heritage as supporting and expert agency to government and stakeholders.

What We Do

Key Interventions of ICOM Nepal

ICOM has been the recipient of both national and international grants. One notable initiative is the ICOM Paris Supported Special Project for the years 2019 and 2020. This project aligns with the ICOM/UNESCO of Kathmandu Recommendation concerning the Protection and Promotion of Museums and Collections, with a specific focus on encouraging the development of regional museums for the benefit of their communities. The project served as a platform for communication, cooperation, and information exchange among curators, museums, and various organizations.
